Regional plan or single country plan?

A single country plan is nearly always cheaper per gigabyte, because the provider only has to buy access to one network group. A regional plan costs more per gigabyte and buys you something different: one install that keeps working when you cross a border, instead of a new eSIM to buy and activate in every new place.

The rough rule we use: two destinations, buy two single country plans. Three or more on the same trip, price up the regional plan first. Global plans only make sense on long multi continent trips, or when the itinerary is still moving.

Check the country list, every time

No regional plan covers every country in its region, and two plans sold under the same region name can differ by a dozen destinations. Open the plan's own coverage list and confirm your actual stops are on it before you pay. Watch for unlimited plans too: most are fair use, meaning full speed up to a daily allowance and slower after that, which is why they carry no price per GB here.
