193 of these 1133 plans were checked against the seller's own shop on 16 October 2026. The rest come from the seller's own feed or plan pages and are not yet independently checked.

The Watchdog Pick is the lowest real price per GB of the 1133 plans in this view. Bulk data pools above 50 GB cannot win it, because their per GB rate only exists if you use data no traveller uses. Providers cannot pay for it. Unlimited plans show their fair use allowance instead of a per GB rate, because there is no per GB rate to compare.

Price per GB counts only data you can use inside the validity, at most 3 GB a day, so a big pool on a short validity cannot buy the top spot. Every provider's best two plans come first, then the rest. A plan marked Unverified price undercuts every other provider here by more than half and waits at the end until we have checked it on the seller's site. How we rank

Unlimited rows show the daily amount at full speed. Some rows also show the speed after that amount. A row with no speed does not mean the plan stays fast, so check the plan on the seller's site.

Short answer. The cheapest Asia eSIM we track right now is ASIMGO, 10 GB for 5 Days at $4.29, which is $0.43 per GB, covering 3 countries on one eSIM. Checked 16 October 2026, 06:08 GMT.

Asia is the widest region we track, and the least consistent. A plan called Asia can mean six countries in the south east or thirty across the continent, and the price per GB moves by a factor of ten depending on which networks the provider bought.

As of 16 October 2026, 06:08 GMT, the best rate on an Asia plan is ASIMGO at $0.43 per GB: 10 GB for 5 Days at $4.29, across 3 countries. The median across all 1133 plans is $1.92, so half of what is sold in this region costs more than that.

  • Smallest ticket price Yesim, 502 MB for 1 Day at $0.45. Useful for a short hop, rarely the best value per GB.
  • Best rate on a large plan ASIMGO, 20 GB for 7 Days at $8.74, $0.44 per GB. Buying bigger is almost always cheaper per GB than topping up twice.
  • Longest validity MobiMatter, 365 Days on one plan. Long itineraries lose money on short plans that have to be replaced.
  • Features across these plans 555 can be topped up, 734 advertise 5G, 949 allow hotspot use, and 500 are sold as unlimited.
Watchdog verdict

Which is the best eSIM for Asia?

Best depends on the trip, so here are the winners on today's numbers rather than one name. Each line is the first row of a different sort on the 1133 live plans above:

  • Best value ASIMGO, 10 GB for 5 Days at $4.29: $0.43 per GB across 3 countries.
  • Widest coverage SogdiaRoam, 33 countries on one eSIM, 6 GB for 10 Days at $19.90.
  • Best for a long trip MobiMatter, 365 Days on one plan, 45 GB at $43.99.
  • Highest daily cap on an unlimited plan MegaEsim, 1 Day at $10.09, full speed up to 10 GB a day. Set that daily cap against the fixed plans before you pay for the word unlimited.

An Asia eSIM only earns its keep once you cross a border. If the whole trip stays in one country, the single country plan usually wins, and the next section prices both sides.

The real question

Is an Asia eSIM worth it, or is one plan per country cheaper?

This is the comparison that decides the purchase, and nobody publishes it, so here it is from our own catalogue. We price both sides on the same basket: a plan of 5 to 50 GB lasting at least 15 days, which is what a real trip needs. Bulk data pools are excluded from both sides, because nobody buys 500 GB for a fortnight.

Best Asia regional plan

Countries priced
32

That regional figure is ASIMGO, 50 GB for 20 Days at $25.19, covering 3 countries. The country figure is the average of the cheapest comparable plan in each of the 32 countries we have prices for in this region.

The regional plan comes out ahead on average. It sits about 30% under the typical country's own best plan at the same size. The cheapest individual countries still beat it, so if your trip is really one country with a day trip attached, price that country on its own page first.

The averages hide a wide spread, and the spread is where the decision actually lives. The cheapest country in this region is Laos at $0.25 per GB on its own plan, well under the regional rate. The dearest is Brunei at $2.20. If your itinerary leans towards the expensive end, the regional plan is worth more than the averages suggest. If it leans cheap, buy per country.

Coverage

How many countries does an Asia eSIM actually cover?

There is no standard. Across the 1133 plans on this page the country lists differ enormously, and the name on the plan tells you almost nothing. These are the widest plans each provider currently sells in this region.

ProviderWidest planPlans hereBest per GB
SogdiaRoam 33 countries 10 $1.23
eSIModo 31 countries 32 $2.27

What goes wrong

China, Hong Kong and Macau are three different things

Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau run separate networks, and a plan that lists one does not automatically carry the others. This is the most expensive assumption in the region, because a traveller flying into Hong Kong and taking the train to Shenzhen needs both.

The other China question is the firewall. Filtering happens on the network inside mainland China, not on your SIM, so no eSIM removes it by existing. What does change things is routing: some roaming plans carry your traffic out to a gateway abroad before it reaches the internet, which is why some travellers reach their usual apps normally. It depends on the plan and the provider, it is not promised, and it can change. If you need a specific service to work in China, ask the provider directly and take a backup.

India is the other regular gap. It is expensive to roam into, so it is dropped from most pan Asian packs and sold on its own.

Unlimited

Are the unlimited Asia plans really unlimited?

No, and they are not sold as a trick either. 471 of the 1133 plans here are unlimited in the fair use sense: full speed up to a daily allowance, then slower until the clock resets. A further 29 plans are unlimited in a different way: one capped speed for the whole plan, shown next to the word Unlimited in the table. The published daily allowances on these plans currently run from 0.5 GB to 10 GB a day. Past the cap the speed drops, often to 1 Mbps or less, which is fine for messages and maps and painful for video.

That is why unlimited plans carry no price per GB in our table. There is no honest per gigabyte number to print, so we show the daily allowance instead and leave the value verdict blank rather than invent one. At $0.43 per GB from the cheapest fixed plan here, unlimited only pays off if you genuinely burn several gigabytes a day.

Before you buy

How to pick the right Asia plan

1

Check the country list, not the plan nameOpen the plan and read which countries it covers. The table above shows the country count for every plan, and the shares further up show how often the tricky ones are actually included.

2

Compare against the single country pagesThe cheapest plan for your main stop may beat the regional plan outright. Here the regional plan is cheaper on average, so check both before you pay.

3

Size it for the trip, not the weekTen days across two or three Asian countries usually lands between 5 and 15 GB. Translation apps, ride hailing and maps burn more data here than they do in Europe, because you use them constantly. Use the filters on this page to set a minimum size and length, then compare only what clears the bar.

4

Install before you flyScan the QR code on wifi at home. Installing needs a working connection, which is the one thing you will not have when you land.

Countries

Every destination covered by an Asia plan

These 30 destinations are covered by at least one of the plans on this page. No single plan covers them all, so treat this as the list of places worth checking rather than a promise. Several of these plans also reach countries outside the region, which is worth knowing if your trip crosses into one. Each name links to its own price comparison.

Questions

Asia eSIM FAQ

The questions people actually ask before buying a multi country plan

What is the cheapest Asia eSIM right now?

Ranked by real price per GB, the cheapest is ASIMGO at $4.29 for 10 GB over 5 Days, which works out to $0.43 per GB across 3 countries. Prices move, and the table on this page is re-ranked every time our catalogue refreshes.

How many countries does an Asia eSIM cover?

It varies by plan, which is the single most important thing to check. Across the 1133 plans we track, the widest is SogdiaRoam at 33 countries on one eSIM. Others cover far fewer. Always open the plan and read its country list before you pay.

Which is the best Asia eSIM?

Best depends on the trip, so we rank rather than pick one name. On today's prices the best value is ASIMGO at $0.43 per GB, while the widest coverage is SogdiaRoam with 33 countries on one eSIM. For heavy daily use there are 471 unlimited plans with daily fair use caps. Every pick is the first row of a sort on live prices, and no provider can pay for it.

Is an Asia eSIM cheaper than buying one eSIM per country?

On a normal trip size, which we take as 5 to 50 GB over at least 15 days, the cheapest Asia regional plan works out at $0.50 per GB (ASIMGO, 50 GB for 20 Days at $25.19). The average of the cheapest single country plan at that same size, across the 32 countries we price here, is $0.71 per GB. The regional plan comes out ahead on average, though the cheapest individual countries still beat it. The countries at the cheap end of the region still undercut it, so check your main stop before you decide.

Do Asia eSIM plans offer unlimited data?

471 of the 1133 plans here are sold as unlimited. In practice almost all of them are fair use: full speed up to a daily allowance, then slower for the rest of the day. The daily allowances on these plans currently run from 0.5 GB to 10 GB. That is why unlimited plans carry no price per GB in our table: there is no per GB rate to compare.

Does an Asia eSIM work in mainland China?

Only some of them. Mainland China is a separate network market and providers price it separately, so a large share of Asia plans leave it out. The coverage figures on this page show how many of the plans we track currently include it.

Will my usual apps work in China on a travel eSIM?

The filtering is done by the network inside China, not by your SIM, so no eSIM switches it off. Some roaming plans route your data out of the country before it reaches the internet, and on those the usual apps often work. It is not guaranteed, it varies by plan, and it can change without notice. Check with the provider and carry a backup plan.

Is Hong Kong included in a China plan?

Usually not. Hong Kong and Macau are separate from the mainland for roaming, so you need a plan that names them. Several regional Asia plans cover all three, which is normally the cheaper way to do a mainland and Hong Kong trip.

Can I top up if I run out mid trip?

555 of the 1133 plans here can be topped up, so you add data instead of buying a second eSIM. The rest need a fresh plan. Topping up is normally dearer per GB than sizing the plan correctly at the start.

How much data will I actually need?

Ten days across two or three Asian countries usually lands between 5 and 15 GB. Translation apps, ride hailing and maps burn more data here than they do in Europe, because you use them constantly. Use the filters on this page to set a minimum size and compare only the plans that clear it.

Will I keep my own number and still get bank codes?

Yes, as long as you leave your home SIM active. These are data only eSIMs and your phone can run both at once. Keep the home line on for SMS and one time codes, switch its roaming data off, and use the eSIM for everything else.

Do these plans include calls or a phone number?

No. The plans we compare are data only, so there is no local number to give out. Calls work normally over WhatsApp, FaceTime or any app that runs on data. If you need a real local number, a local SIM is the right tool.
