121 of these 1024 plans were checked against the seller's own shop on 17 October 2026. The rest come from the seller's own feed or plan pages and are not yet independently checked.

The Watchdog Pick is the lowest real price per GB of the 1024 plans in this view. Bulk data pools above 50 GB cannot win it, because their per GB rate only exists if you use data no traveller uses. Providers cannot pay for it. Unlimited plans show their fair use allowance instead of a per GB rate, because there is no per GB rate to compare.

Price per GB counts only data you can use inside the validity, at most 3 GB a day, so a big pool on a short validity cannot buy the top spot. Every provider's best two plans come first, then the rest. A plan marked Unverified price undercuts every other provider here by more than half and waits at the end until we have checked it on the seller's site. How we rank

Unlimited rows show the daily amount at full speed. Some rows also show the speed after that amount. A row with no speed does not mean the plan stays fast, so check the plan on the seller's site.

Short answer. The cheapest North America eSIM we track right now is Breeze, 50 GB for 30 Days at $49.99, which is $1.00 per GB, covering 3 countries on one eSIM. Checked 17 October 2026, 06:01 GMT.

North America is the simplest region to shop for and the easiest one to overpay in. Most plans here are built around the United States, Canada and Mexico, and the rest are wider Americas packs that reach further south.

As of 17 October 2026, 06:01 GMT, the best rate on a North America plan is Breeze at $1.00 per GB: 50 GB for 30 Days at $49.99, across 3 countries. The median across all 1024 plans is $3.38, so half of what is sold in this region costs more than that.

  • Smallest ticket price ASIMGO, Unlimited200 MB/day for 1 Day at $0.54. Useful for a short hop, rarely the best value per GB.
  • Best rate on a large plan Breeze, 50 GB for 30 Days at $49.99, $1.00 per GB. Buying bigger is almost always cheaper per GB than topping up twice.
  • Longest validity MobiMatter, 365 Days on one plan. Long itineraries lose money on short plans that have to be replaced.
  • Features across these plans 482 can be topped up, 607 advertise 5G, 859 allow hotspot use, and 488 are sold as unlimited.
Watchdog verdict

Which is the best eSIM for North America?

Best depends on the trip, so here are the winners on today's numbers rather than one name. Each line is the first row of a different sort on the 1024 live plans above:

  • Best value Breeze, 50 GB for 30 Days at $49.99: $1.00 per GB across 3 countries.
  • Widest coverage GigSky, 48 countries on one eSIM, 512 MB for 1 Day at $10.99.
  • Best for a long trip MobiMatter, 365 Days on one plan, 35 GB at $43.99.
  • Highest daily cap on an unlimited plan Roamix, 365 Days at $9,618.65, full speed up to 10 GB a day. Set that daily cap against the fixed plans before you pay for the word unlimited.

A North America eSIM only earns its keep once you cross a border. If the whole trip stays in one country, the single country plan usually wins, and the next section prices both sides.

The real question

Is a North America eSIM worth it, or is one plan per country cheaper?

This is the comparison that decides the purchase, and nobody publishes it, so here it is from our own catalogue. We price both sides on the same basket: a plan of 5 to 50 GB lasting at least 15 days, which is what a real trip needs. Bulk data pools are excluded from both sides, because nobody buys 500 GB for a fortnight.

Best North America regional plan

Average country, own plan
$1.68
Countries priced
12

That regional figure is Breeze, 50 GB for 30 Days at $49.99, covering 3 countries. The country figure is the average of the cheapest comparable plan in each of the 12 countries we have prices for in this region.

The regional plan comes out ahead on average. It sits about 40% under the typical country's own best plan at the same size. The cheapest individual countries still beat it, so if your trip is really one country with a day trip attached, price that country on its own page first.

The averages hide a wide spread, and the spread is where the decision actually lives. The cheapest country in this region is USA at $0.46 per GB on its own plan, well under the regional rate. The dearest is Belize at $7.09. If your itinerary leans towards the expensive end, the regional plan is worth more than the averages suggest. If it leans cheap, buy per country.

Coverage

How many countries does a North America eSIM actually cover?

There is no standard. Across the 1024 plans on this page the country lists differ enormously, and the name on the plan tells you almost nothing. These are the widest plans each provider currently sells in this region.

ProviderWidest planPlans hereBest per GB
GigSky 48 countries 21 $1.20
MobiMatter 26 countries 39 $1.26
ASIMGO 23 countries 127 $1.24
Tourist eSIM 20 countries 66 $1.30
Lempart Flex 20 countries 337 $1.37
AlpineSIM 20 countries 141 $1.43

The countries below are the ones travellers assume are covered. The share is live: it is the proportion of the 1024 North America plans in our catalogue that currently include that country.

Canada 1520 of 2297 66%
Guatemala 697 of 2297 30%
Mexico 1662 of 2297 72%
Panama 647 of 2297 28%
USA 1637 of 2297 71%
What goes wrong

Three countries, and the price gap between them

Because the core pack is small, the regional plan competes directly with three cheap single country plans, and it does not always win. A trip that is really a US trip with two days in Vancouver is usually cheaper as a US plan plus a small Canada plan.

Read the table with one eye on the country count. Some plans on this page are wider Americas packs that reach into Central and South America, and a few of those do not include the United States at all. The coverage figures below show the live share for each of the three core countries.

Coverage depth matters more here than country count. All three countries have several networks, and which one a plan roams onto changes what you get outside cities. Providers rarely publish this, so treat rural coverage as unknown until you are there.

Watch the validity as well as the data. Cross country trips in this region run long, and a 7 day plan that has to be replaced twice costs more than the 30 day plan that looked expensive.

Unlimited

Are the unlimited North America plans really unlimited?

No, and they are not sold as a trick either. 482 of the 1024 plans here are unlimited in the fair use sense: full speed up to a daily allowance, then slower until the clock resets. A further 6 plans are unlimited in a different way: one capped speed for the whole plan, shown next to the word Unlimited in the table. The published daily allowances on these plans currently run from 0.2 GB to 10 GB a day. Past the cap the speed drops, often to 1 Mbps or less, which is fine for messages and maps and painful for video.

That is why unlimited plans carry no price per GB in our table. There is no honest per gigabyte number to print, so we show the daily allowance instead and leave the value verdict blank rather than invent one. At $1.00 per GB from the cheapest fixed plan here, unlimited only pays off if you genuinely burn several gigabytes a day.

How to pick the right North America plan

1

Check the country list, not the plan nameOpen the plan and read which countries it covers. The table above shows the country count for every plan, and the shares further up show how often the tricky ones are actually included.

2

Compare against the single country pagesThe cheapest plan for your main stop may beat the regional plan outright. Here the regional plan is cheaper on average, so check both before you pay.

3

Size it for the trip, not the weekTwo weeks of driving, maps and hotel evenings comes in around 5 to 12 GB. Hotspot use for a laptop is the thing that pushes it up. Use the filters on this page to set a minimum size and length, then compare only what clears the bar.

4

Install before you flyScan the QR code on wifi at home. Installing needs a working connection, which is the one thing you will not have when you land.

Countries

Every destination covered by a North America plan

These 12 destinations are covered by at least one of the plans on this page. No single plan covers them all, so treat this as the list of places worth checking rather than a promise. Several of these plans also reach countries outside the region, which is worth knowing if your trip crosses into one. Each name links to its own price comparison.

Questions

North America eSIM FAQ

The questions people actually ask before buying a multi country plan

What is the cheapest North America eSIM right now?

Ranked by real price per GB, the cheapest is Breeze at $49.99 for 50 GB over 30 Days, which works out to $1.00 per GB across 3 countries. Prices move, and the table on this page is re-ranked every time our catalogue refreshes.

How many countries does a North America eSIM cover?

It varies by plan, which is the single most important thing to check. Across the 1024 plans we track, the widest is GigSky at 48 countries on one eSIM. Others cover far fewer. Always open the plan and read its country list before you pay.

Which is the best North America eSIM?

Best depends on the trip, so we rank rather than pick one name. On today's prices the best value is Breeze at $1.00 per GB, while the widest coverage is GigSky with 48 countries on one eSIM. For heavy daily use there are 482 unlimited plans with daily fair use caps. Every pick is the first row of a sort on live prices, and no provider can pay for it.

Is a North America eSIM cheaper than buying one eSIM per country?

On a normal trip size, which we take as 5 to 50 GB over at least 15 days, the cheapest North America regional plan works out at $1.00 per GB (Breeze, 50 GB for 30 Days at $49.99). The average of the cheapest single country plan at that same size, across the 12 countries we price here, is $1.68 per GB. The regional plan comes out ahead on average, though the cheapest individual countries still beat it. The countries at the cheap end of the region still undercut it, so check your main stop before you decide.

Do North America eSIM plans offer unlimited data?

482 of the 1024 plans here are sold as unlimited. In practice almost all of them are fair use: full speed up to a daily allowance, then slower for the rest of the day. The daily allowances on these plans currently run from 0.2 GB to 10 GB. That is why unlimited plans carry no price per GB in our table: there is no per GB rate to compare.

Does a North America eSIM cover Mexico?

Many do, but far from all, and the same is true of the United States and Canada. Plans on this page range from tight three country packs to wider Americas packs that skip the north entirely. The coverage figures on this page show the live share for each, and every row in the table shows how many countries that plan covers.

Is a regional plan cheaper than a US only plan?

Usually not, if you are only in the US. American single country plans are competitive, so the regional plan earns its price when you actually cross a border. The comparison on this page shows both numbers side by side.

Do these plans include Central America or the Caribbean?

Some of the wider Americas packs do, and the tight North America packs do not. Check the country count on the row before you buy: that number is the honest signal, not the name of the plan.

Can I top up if I run out mid trip?

482 of the 1024 plans here can be topped up, so you add data instead of buying a second eSIM. The rest need a fresh plan. Topping up is normally dearer per GB than sizing the plan correctly at the start.

How much data will I actually need?

Two weeks of driving, maps and hotel evenings comes in around 5 to 12 GB. Hotspot use for a laptop is the thing that pushes it up. Use the filters on this page to set a minimum size and compare only the plans that clear it.

Will I keep my own number and still get bank codes?

Yes, as long as you leave your home SIM active. These are data only eSIMs and your phone can run both at once. Keep the home line on for SMS and one time codes, switch its roaming data off, and use the eSIM for everything else.

Do these plans include calls or a phone number?

No. The plans we compare are data only, so there is no local number to give out. Calls work normally over WhatsApp, FaceTime or any app that runs on data. If you need a real local number, a local SIM is the right tool.
