187 of these 1262 plans were checked against the seller's own shop on 17 October 2026. The rest come from the seller's own feed or plan pages and are not yet independently checked.

The Watchdog Pick is the lowest real price per GB of the 1262 plans in this view. Bulk data pools above 50 GB cannot win it, because their per GB rate only exists if you use data no traveller uses. Providers cannot pay for it. Unlimited plans show their fair use allowance instead of a per GB rate, because there is no per GB rate to compare.

Price per GB counts only data you can use inside the validity, at most 3 GB a day, so a big pool on a short validity cannot buy the top spot. Every provider's best two plans come first, then the rest. A plan marked Unverified price undercuts every other provider here by more than half and waits at the end until we have checked it on the seller's site. How we rank

Unlimited rows show the daily amount at full speed. Some rows also show the speed after that amount. A row with no speed does not mean the plan stays fast, so check the plan on the seller's site.

Travel smarter

Short answer. The cheapest Europe eSIM we track right now is Yatelo, 20 GB for 30 Days at $6.99, which is $0.35 per GB, covering 28 countries on one eSIM. Checked 17 October 2026, 06:01 GMT.

Europe has the cheapest travel data anywhere, and the narrowest gap between a regional plan and buying per country. That makes it the one region where the decision is genuinely close, and where the country list matters more than the price.

As of 17 October 2026, 06:01 GMT, the best rate on a Europe plan is Yatelo at $0.35 per GB: 20 GB for 30 Days at $6.99, across 28 countries. The median across all 1262 plans is $1.39, so half of what is sold in this region costs more than that.

  • Smallest ticket price eSIM4Travel, 100 MB for 1 Day at $0.20. Useful for a short hop, rarely the best value per GB.
  • Best rate on a large plan Yatelo, 20 GB for 30 Days at $6.99, $0.35 per GB. Buying bigger is almost always cheaper per GB than topping up twice.
  • Longest validity MobiMatter, 365 Days on one plan. Long itineraries lose money on short plans that have to be replaced.
  • Features across these plans 585 can be topped up, 751 advertise 5G, 1076 allow hotspot use, and 587 are sold as unlimited.
Watchdog verdict

Which is the best eSIM for Europe?

Best depends on the trip, so here are the winners on today's numbers rather than one name. Each line is the first row of a different sort on the 1262 live plans above:

  • Best value Yatelo, 20 GB for 30 Days at $6.99: $0.35 per GB across 28 countries.
  • Widest coverage MobiMatter, 51 countries on one eSIM, 36 GB for 30 Days at $29.99.
  • Best for a long trip MobiMatter, 365 Days on one plan, 40 GB at $39.99.
  • Highest daily cap on an unlimited plan Tourist eSIM, 1 Day at $9.21, full speed up to 10 GB a day. Set that daily cap against the fixed plans before you pay for the word unlimited.

A Europe eSIM only earns its keep once you cross a border. If the whole trip stays in one country, the single country plan usually wins, and the next section prices both sides.

The real question

Is a Europe eSIM worth it, or is one plan per country cheaper?

This is the comparison that decides the purchase, and nobody publishes it, so here it is from our own catalogue. We price both sides on the same basket: a plan of 5 to 50 GB lasting at least 15 days, which is what a real trip needs. Bulk data pools are excluded from both sides, because nobody buys 500 GB for a fortnight.

Best Europe regional plan

Countries priced
52

That regional figure is Yatelo, 20 GB for 30 Days at $6.99, covering 28 countries. The country figure is the average of the cheapest comparable plan in each of the 52 countries we have prices for in this region.

The regional plan comes out ahead on average. It sits about 18% under the typical country's own best plan at the same size. The cheapest individual countries still beat it, so if your trip is really one country with a day trip attached, price that country on its own page first.

The averages hide a wide spread, and the spread is where the decision actually lives. The cheapest country in this region is Ukraine at $0.23 per GB on its own plan, well under the regional rate. The dearest is Kosovo at $1.64. If your itinerary leans towards the expensive end, the regional plan is worth more than the averages suggest. If it leans cheap, buy per country.

Coverage

How many countries does a Europe eSIM actually cover?

There is no standard. Across the 1262 plans on this page the country lists differ enormously, and the name on the plan tells you almost nothing. These are the widest plans each provider currently sells in this region.

What goes wrong

The non EU trap: the UK, Switzerland and the Balkans

A plan sold as a Europe eSIM is not a plan for the continent of Europe. Most are built on EU roaming agreements, and the countries outside those agreements get added one by one, or left out. The three that catch people are the UK, which left the EU, Switzerland, which was never in it, and the western Balkans.

Turkey is the other one to check. Some providers file it under Europe, some under the Middle East, and some leave it off both. If Istanbul is on your route, read the plan list rather than the plan name.

None of this shows up until you land. The eSIM installs, it works in Paris, and then it goes quiet at the Swiss border. The percentages above are the current state of the plans we track, so you can see how likely a random Europe plan is to include the country you care about.

Unlimited

Are the unlimited Europe plans really unlimited?

No, and they are not sold as a trick either. 554 of the 1262 plans here are unlimited in the fair use sense: full speed up to a daily allowance, then slower until the clock resets. A further 33 plans are unlimited in a different way: one capped speed for the whole plan, shown next to the word Unlimited in the table. The published daily allowances on these plans currently run from 0.3 GB to 10 GB a day. Past the cap the speed drops, often to 1 Mbps or less, which is fine for messages and maps and painful for video.

That is why unlimited plans carry no price per GB in our table. There is no honest per gigabyte number to print, so we show the daily allowance instead and leave the value verdict blank rather than invent one. At $0.35 per GB from the cheapest fixed plan here, unlimited only pays off if you genuinely burn several gigabytes a day.

Before you buy

How to pick the right Europe plan

1

Check the country list, not the plan nameOpen the plan and read which countries it covers. The table above shows the country count for every plan, and the shares further up show how often the tricky ones are actually included.

2

Compare against the single country pagesThe cheapest plan for your main stop may beat the regional plan outright. Here the regional plan is cheaper on average, so check both before you pay.

3

Size it for the trip, not the weekTwo weeks of maps, messages and normal browsing across a few cities runs at roughly 5 to 10 GB. Add 1 to 2 GB a day if you tether a laptop or stream on trains. Use the filters on this page to set a minimum size and length, then compare only what clears the bar.

4

Install before you flyScan the QR code on wifi at home. Installing needs a working connection, which is the one thing you will not have when you land.

Countries

Every destination covered by a Europe plan

These 52 destinations are covered by at least one of the plans on this page. No single plan covers them all, so treat this as the list of places worth checking rather than a promise. Several of these plans also reach countries outside the region, which is worth knowing if your trip crosses into one. Each name links to its own price comparison.

Questions

Europe eSIM FAQ

The questions people actually ask before buying a multi country plan

What is the cheapest Europe eSIM right now?

Ranked by real price per GB, the cheapest is Yatelo at $6.99 for 20 GB over 30 Days, which works out to $0.35 per GB across 28 countries. Prices move, and the table on this page is re-ranked every time our catalogue refreshes.

How many countries does a Europe eSIM cover?

It varies by plan, which is the single most important thing to check. Across the 1262 plans we track, the widest is MobiMatter at 51 countries on one eSIM. Others cover far fewer. Always open the plan and read its country list before you pay.

Which is the best Europe eSIM?

Best depends on the trip, so we rank rather than pick one name. On today's prices the best value is Yatelo at $0.35 per GB, while the widest coverage is MobiMatter with 51 countries on one eSIM. For heavy daily use there are 554 unlimited plans with daily fair use caps. Every pick is the first row of a sort on live prices, and no provider can pay for it.

Is a Europe eSIM cheaper than buying one eSIM per country?

On a normal trip size, which we take as 5 to 50 GB over at least 15 days, the cheapest Europe regional plan works out at $0.35 per GB (Yatelo, 20 GB for 30 Days at $6.99). The average of the cheapest single country plan at that same size, across the 52 countries we price here, is $0.43 per GB. The regional plan comes out ahead on average, though the cheapest individual countries still beat it. The countries at the cheap end of the region still undercut it, so check your main stop before you decide.

Do Europe eSIM plans offer unlimited data?

554 of the 1262 plans here are sold as unlimited. In practice almost all of them are fair use: full speed up to a daily allowance, then slower for the rest of the day. The daily allowances on these plans currently run from 0.3 GB to 10 GB. That is why unlimited plans carry no price per GB in our table: there is no per GB rate to compare.

Does a Europe eSIM work in the UK?

On most plans, yes, but not all of them, and the UK is the single most common gap. Check the plan list before you buy. Our table shows every plan we track, and the coverage figures on this page show how many of them currently include the UK.

Will a Europe eSIM work in Switzerland?

Sometimes. Switzerland is outside the EU roaming area, so providers add it as a commercial deal rather than by default. It is the second most common gap after the UK. If your trip crosses Switzerland, treat it as a country to verify rather than assume.

Is a Europe plan better than buying one eSIM per country?

It depends on how many countries you visit and how cheap those countries already are. Europe has the cheapest single country plans anywhere, so a two country trip is usually cheaper with two separate plans. From three or four countries the regional plan starts to win on both price and effort.

Can I top up if I run out mid trip?

585 of the 1262 plans here can be topped up, so you add data instead of buying a second eSIM. The rest need a fresh plan. Topping up is normally dearer per GB than sizing the plan correctly at the start.

How much data will I actually need?

Two weeks of maps, messages and normal browsing across a few cities runs at roughly 5 to 10 GB. Add 1 to 2 GB a day if you tether a laptop or stream on trains. Use the filters on this page to set a minimum size and compare only the plans that clear it.

Will I keep my own number and still get bank codes?

Yes, as long as you leave your home SIM active. These are data only eSIMs and your phone can run both at once. Keep the home line on for SMS and one time codes, switch its roaming data off, and use the eSIM for everything else.

Do these plans include calls or a phone number?

No. The plans we compare are data only, so there is no local number to give out. Calls work normally over WhatsApp, FaceTime or any app that runs on data. If you need a real local number, a local SIM is the right tool.

Compare another region

Every region we track, ranked by the cheapest real price per GB, sits on the regional and global eSIM hub. If your trip stays in one country, the country by country comparison will nearly always be cheaper.
