Gigago eSIM review

4.4

The short answer. Gigago sells prepaid travel eSIM plans in 180 countries, and its cheapest rate today is $0.38 per GB. Its median rate of $2.10 per GB is about 26% below the $2.83 median across every plan we track. On price it is a reasonable default, and the country page for your destination will still show you whether someone there beats it. It also sells plans marketed as unlimited, the most generous of them allowing 3 GB a day at full speed.

Have we checked these prices?

Not yet. Gigago's prices here come from their own feed, and we have not built a checker for their shop yet, so nothing on this page has been confirmed against what a buyer actually sees. We are adding shop checks provider by provider and this page will say so when it is done.

A feed is not a shop. Feeds can list products that are not on sale, describe them differently, or carry a stale price, so a price nobody has checked again is only a number we copied.

Gigago did not pay for this review or this rating. The rating is computed from live catalogue data and cannot be bought. If you buy through a link on this page we may earn a commission, and the price you pay stays exactly the same.
About Gigago

Who is Gigago?

Gigago is a Hong Kong travel eSIM seller covering more than 200 countries and regions, strongest across Asia. Its range runs from small daily allowances up to large monthly bundles, and a handful of plans include a real phone number. Plans are bought on the web and delivered by QR code, with no app and no account needed.

Watchdog notice

Read this before you buy from Gigago

Gigago has the strongest independent record of any seller we added this month: 4.7 from more than eight hundred Trustpilot reviews, and they answer every negative one. The catalogue is broad and the prices are keen in Asia in particular. The two things to hold in mind are that a plan cannot be topped up, and that most of their unlimited options do not say what the daily allowance is, which is why we do not list those.

  • Their review record is the real thing. 4.7 from more than 800 reviews, a profile claimed since July 2024, reviews left unprompted rather than solicited, and a reply on every negative one we could see. Most sellers on this site have a fraction of that.
  • We list none of their unlimited options. Only 18 of their 243 products state the daily allowance and the speed it drops to; the rest publish nothing, so there is no honest figure to put in a table. Where they do say it, it is 1GB a day at full speed and then 5 Mbps.
  • You cannot top up. Their own plan pages say the top up option is not available, so if you run out you buy a second eSIM rather than extend the first.
  • Some plans include a real phone number, which is unusual here, and those are marked separately in our tables rather than mixed in with the data only ones.
  • Support hours are stated two ways on their own site. A banner promises WhatsApp 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while their contact page says Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm Pacific. Assume the narrower one.
  • Refunds are judged case by case rather than by a rule. They say they will give a fair refund based on unused value, up to the whole price, but nothing is owed if you bought the wrong country and already installed it.
  • They are a Hong Kong company, GIGAGO Limited, with a published street address in Mong Kok. There is no company registration number on the site.

We list Gigago because its prices are real and its plans rank on the same maths as everyone else's. We publish what we could not verify so you can decide with the facts in front of you.

Technical details

How Gigago works, in detail

Activation
Buy on the web and install from a QR code. No app and no account needed.
Plan type
Mostly data. A small number of plans add a real phone number, and those are marked as such in our tables.
Validity clock
The plan runs for its stated number of days, from a single day up to ninety. Daily allowance plans give a set amount each day at full speed.
Hotspot sharing
Stated as available on their plan pages.
5G access
They advertise 5G on many destinations but do not state it plan by plan, so we do not mark any Gigago plan as 5G on their word alone.
Top ups
No. Their plan pages state that the top up option is not available, so a second eSIM is the only way to add more.
ID checks (KYC)
Nothing published about identity checks, and several of their plans are advertised as needing none.
Apps
No app. The eSIM arrives by email as a QR code and is installed from your phone settings.
Payments
Card at their own checkout, priced in dollars, with other currencies offered by a switcher on the site.
Refunds
Case by case rather than a fixed rule. They say support will check the problem first and, if it cannot be resolved, give a fair refund based on unused value or impact, up to the full price of the eSIM. Nothing is refunded where the wrong plan or country was bought and already installed.
Support
WhatsApp on +1 657-571-1199 and email. The site advertises 24 hours a day but their contact page says Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm Pacific.

Is there a Gigago discount code?

Not one we can vouch for right now. We only publish a Gigago promo code after testing it at Gigago's own checkout, and most codes on coupon sites are expired or never worked. If a working discount code appears it will be listed here, and it will never change where Gigago ranks in our tables.

PROS

  • The best independent review record of any provider we added this month, 4.7 from over 800
  • They reply to their negative reviews rather than ignore them
  • More than 200 destinations, with real strength across Asia
  • A handful of plans include a real phone number, which few rivals here sell
  • Single day plans exist, which suit very short trips
  • No app and no account needed to buy

CONS

  • No top ups at all, so running out means buying a second eSIM
  • Most unlimited plans do not publish a daily allowance, so we cannot list them
  • No company registration number published anywhere on the site
  • Support hours are advertised two different ways on their own site
  • Refunds are discretionary rather than governed by a clear rule
  • 5G is advertised in general but never confirmed plan by plan

What real Gigago customers say

4.7 / 5 Trustpilot, 818 reviews. Collected independently of us, checked Oct 2026.

Most praised

  • Support is repeatedly named as fast and genuinely helpful
  • Works immediately on landing
  • Good coverage across Vietnam and wider Asia

Most complained about

  • Some buyers needed a support session before the eSIM worked
  • No top up, so running out means buying again

Check before you buy

  • Buy a size up if you are unsure, because there is no way to top up later
  • If a plan is sold as unlimited, ask in writing what the daily allowance and the speed after it are, since most of their pages do not say
  • Do not install the eSIM until you are certain of the country, because that is the one case where they refuse a refund outright
  • Check the currency selector before paying, since the site offers several

Questions

Gigago eSIM FAQ

What people ask before they buy a Gigago eSIM, answered from live data

Is Gigago legit?

Gigago is a real seller with 5361 live plans in our catalogue covering 180 countries, and every one of those prices is checked again at each catalogue refresh. Trustpilot shows 4.7 out of 5 from 818 reviews, collected independently of us. Our own rating of 4.4 out of 5 is computed from prices and coverage and cannot be bought.

How much does a Gigago eSIM cost?

Gigago plans run from $1.50 to $303.90. Ranked by real price per GB the best rate is 30 GB for 15 Days at $11.50, which is $0.38 per GB. Across the whole catalogue the median is $2.10 per GB against a market median of $2.83, so a typical Gigago plan is cheaper than the market.

Does Gigago have a discount code?

Not one we can vouch for. We only publish Gigago promo codes that we have tested at its checkout, and there is no working code right now. Most codes on coupon sites are expired, so check the total on the payment page before you count on a discount.

Which countries does Gigago cover?

180 countries in our catalogue. The cheapest Gigago destinations by price per GB right now are Laos ($0.38), Thailand ($0.42), Andorra ($0.61). Every country in the table on this page links to its full comparison, where Gigago is ranked against every other provider we track.

Can I use a Gigago eSIM as a hotspot?

Stated as available on their plan pages.

Does Gigago sell unlimited data plans?

2341 of its 5361 plans are sold as unlimited. In practice they are fair use plans: full speed up to a daily allowance, then slower. That is why they carry no price per GB in our tables.

How do I install a Gigago eSIM?

Buy on the web and install from a QR code. No app and no account needed. Buy the plan online, scan the QR code on wifi before you fly, and leave the new line switched off until you land. Then turn on data roaming for the Gigago line and give it a minute to attach to a network. If the code will not install, our guide to eSIM QR code errors covers every message a phone can show.
