Thailand's operators pushed 5G population coverage above 95% by December 2025, and 4G reaches about 97 to 98% of the population. Both big networks report over 99% coverage in the Bangkok metropolitan area.
- AIS: AIS runs Thailand's largest mobile network, with 4G reaching above 98% of the population, and its users spent the most time on an active 5G connection in Opensignal's 2025 testing.
- True: True merged with dtac in March 2023 to form the second giant, reported 93% nationwide 5G population coverage in February 2025, and plans 98% by the end of 2026.
- dtac: dtac survives as a True Corporation brand after the merger and still sells its own entry level tourist SIM range on the True network.
Since the True and dtac merger Thailand is effectively a duopoly of AIS and True, and MVNOs play almost no role in the tourist market.
