Which mobile networks does Mauritius have?
Mauritius had about 2.14 million mobile connections in early 2025, around 168 percent of the population. Some 95.8 percent of those connections run on 3G, 4G or 5G networks.
- my.t (Mauritius Telecom): The biggest operator on the island, run by partly state owned Mauritius Telecom, which reported around 969,000 mobile subscribers and has sold everything under the my.t brand since 2017.
- Emtel: Founded in 1989 and known as a pioneer, it launched Africa's first 3G network in 2004 and the island's first 4G in 2012, and says its 5G signal now reaches about 60 percent of the population.
