AdventureSIMs eSIM review

5.0

The short answer. AdventureSIMs sells prepaid travel eSIM plans in 158 countries, and its cheapest rate today is $0.46 per GB. Its median rate of $1.80 per GB is about 36% below the $2.83 median across every plan we track. On price it is a reasonable default, and the country page for your destination will still show you whether someone there beats it.

No editor chose this rating. It is computed from live catalogue data: value for money, country coverage, features. It cannot be bought. See how it is calculated.

Have we checked these prices?

Not yet. AdventureSIMs's prices here come from their own feed, and we have not built a checker for their shop yet, so nothing on this page has been confirmed against what a buyer actually sees. We are adding shop checks provider by provider and this page will say so when it is done.

A feed is not a shop. Feeds can list products that are not on sale, describe them differently, or carry a stale price, so a price nobody has checked again is only a number we copied.

AdventureSIMs did not pay for this review or this rating. The rating is computed from live catalogue data and cannot be bought. If you buy through a link on this page we may earn a commission, and the price you pay stays exactly the same.

About AdventureSIMs

Who is AdventureSIMs?

AdventureSIMs is an Australian eSIM seller. Its business name and its website were both registered in October 2024, and it is run by a sole trader in Queensland, not by a limited company. We list its plans for 156 countries: country plans in 141, plus regional and global plans.

Every plan we list is a fixed bundle of data, from 500 MB to 75 GB, lasting 3 to 365 days. Its prices sit in the cheaper half of the market in most countries, though it is not the cheapest seller anywhere. The store charges in Australian dollars only, so the US dollar prices we show are converted at the latest European Central Bank rate. It has no Trustpilot reviews yet.

Read this before you buy from AdventureSIMs

AdventureSIMs is a small Australian seller whose prices sit below most of the market. Its refund policy is clear, with 90 days to return an unused eSIM, and its data matched its store when we checked on 4 October 2026. You pay in Australian dollars. The business is a sole trader with a registered business name, not a company, and there are almost no independent reviews of it yet.

  • The business is on the official register. When we checked on 4 October 2026 the Australian Business Register listed the business name Adventure Sims, registered on 15 October 2024 and held in Queensland. Their own site gives no ABN, legal name or address.
  • The register shows a sole trader, not a company. Their terms describe AdventureSIMs as a company registered in Australia, and we found no company of that name in the company data ASIC publishes.
  • It started in October 2024. The domain was registered on 14 October 2024 and the iPhone app arrived in July 2025. On 4 October 2026 Trustpilot had a profile for them, claimed in July 2026, with no reviews, and the Australian App Store showed 8 ratings for their app. That is very little to judge their service by.
  • Their store agreed with their data on the day we listed them. On 4 October 2026 we compared all 985 plans in their data with their 152 store pages, and each plan was on its store page at the price their data gives. That was one check on one day. It is not the repeated shop check we run on some sellers, which we have not built for them yet.
  • We hold back 20 of their plans. On 4 October 2026 their store sent the links for the 3, 5, 10 and 20 GB Kosovo plans to a different 3 GB plan lasting 15 days, at a different price. The page for their Europe Saver plan names France, which the plan does not cover. Eight one day plans for Bahrain and Reunion do not say whether they are a single day bundle or a daily amount. We list none of these until they are fixed or made clear.
  • Prices sit below most of the market. On 4 October 2026 their median price per gigabyte was well under the median across every plan we list. Taking each seller at its lowest price per gigabyte on plans up to 50 GB, they were in the cheaper half of sellers in 123 of 156 countries and the cheapest seller in none.
  • You pay in Australian dollars. Their site shows a plain $ sign with no currency label, and we found no way to switch currency. A reader outside Australia could take the prices for US dollars, which would make them look dearer than they are.
  • Some plan pages promise more than the plan covers. On 4 October 2026 their own plan data listed 127 countries for Global Complete, sold as 130+, 117 for Global Essential, sold as 120, and 19 for Asia Complete, sold as 20. Their home page says 200+ destinations and their data covered 158 countries. We count the countries from their data, not from the page.
  • Their reader code WATCHDOG takes 5% off. On 4 October 2026 it was added at their checkout by itself after we arrived through our link, and it also applied when typed by hand. We watched a Japan 3 GB 30 day plan go from A$5.99 to A$5.69. We tried it on that one plan and did not complete a purchase.

We list AdventureSIMs because its prices are real and its plans rank on the same maths as everyone else's. We publish what we could not verify so you can decide with the facts in front of you.

Technical details

How AdventureSIMs works, in detail

Activation
Buy on their website or in their app. Their terms say the eSIM is delivered straight after payment, in the app or by email. Their help page says the email carries a one tap install link for iPhone and a QR code, and that data roaming has to be switched on for the eSIM line.
Plan type
Data only. Their FAQ says the plans are for data and suggests apps such as WhatsApp for calls and messages.
Validity clock
Their site says the eSIM activates by itself when you arrive at your destination. It does not say in so many words when the day count begins. A plan must be activated within 180 days of purchase, apart from Canada 75 GB, which allows 30 days.
Hotspot sharing
Yes. Every plan page lists hotspot as Yes, and their data marks it on every plan.
5G access
On plans where every covered country has a 5G network in their data. On 4 October 2026 that meant country plans in 81 countries and their regional plan for China, Hong Kong and Macao. We hold it back for Albania, South Africa and the UAE, where their plan data lists 5G but the description on the same page says 4G. Their USA page adds that 5G depends on coverage and on your phone.
Top ups
On most plans, and their data says which. Their current help page says top ups are bought in their app and add both data and days to what is left. It allows up to 10 top ups on one eSIM and says top ups are not refunded.
ID checks (KYC)
Their plan pages show an ID check as not required on every plan.
Apps
iPhone app since July 2025, and an Android app on Google Play. Their site says you can buy, top up, track usage and chat to support in the app.
Payments
Through Stripe, in Australian dollars only. Their plan pages offered card, Apple Pay and Google Pay when we looked on 4 October 2026. Their terms also list PayPal, which we did not see offered.
Refunds
Their refund policy gives a full refund on an unused eSIM within 90 days of purchase. Unused means it has not connected to a mobile network, no data has been used and it has not expired. Once an eSIM has connected or used data it is generally not refunded, though they say they will look into a technical fault, and Australian consumer law still applies. They ask you to contact support first. An approved refund goes back to the original payment method, usually within 3 to 5 business days, the policy says. Top ups are not refunded.
Support
Email, a contact form, live chat on their site and chat in their app. Their site gives no opening hours, no reply time and no phone number.

Check before you buy

  • The $ on their site means Australian dollars. Your card provider sets the final rate and may add a foreign currency fee, so our US dollar figures are a close estimate
  • Count the countries a regional plan covers, not the number on its page. On 4 October 2026 Global Complete was sold as 130+ areas and their plan data covered 127. Global Essential was sold as 120 areas and covered 117. Asia Complete was sold as 20 areas and covered 19
  • We do not list their Europe Saver plan. The description on its page names France, and the plan does not cover France. Their Europe Popular and Europe Complete plans do
  • The written country list on the Europe Complete + Morocco page names Russia, Albania and Montenegro. Their plan data for it does not cover them
  • Their South America plan covers 20 places and only 9 of them are in South America. The rest are in Central America and the Caribbean, and Venezuela is not covered
  • On 4 October 2026 their plan pages showed Hong Kong as the IP location for seven of their eight Japan plans, eight of nine Thailand plans, and all their China, Vietnam, Taiwan and Singapore country plans. Their own note says some services, including TikTok and ChatGPT, may not be available on a Hong Kong connection
  • Canada 75 GB must be activated within 30 days of purchase, not 180, and cannot be topped up
  • Top ups are bought in their app, their current help page says, with a limit of 10 on one eSIM. An older help article still mentions the website
  • Their FAQ says an eSIM can be installed again on the same phone but cannot be moved to another phone once it is activated
  • We also leave out four Kosovo plans because their links open a different plan on the store, and eight one day plans for Bahrain and Reunion until it is clear how those work
  • A banner on their site offers 10% off selected destinations. On 4 October 2026 no plan page showed a reduced price, so we list their standard prices
  • Their terms say sales tax will be added where they decide it is required. Their pages do not say whether prices include Australian GST

Questions

AdventureSIMs eSIM FAQ

What people ask before they buy an AdventureSIMs eSIM, answered from live data

Is AdventureSIMs legit?

AdventureSIMs is a real seller with 980 live plans in our catalogue covering 158 countries, and every one of those prices is checked again at each catalogue refresh. Our own rating of 5.0 out of 5 is computed from prices and coverage and cannot be bought.

How much does an AdventureSIMs eSIM cost?

AdventureSIMs plans run from $0.68 to $178.29. Ranked by real price per GB the best rate is 50 GB for 10 Days at $13.81, which is $0.46 per GB. Across the whole catalogue the median is $1.80 per GB against a market median of $2.83, so a typical AdventureSIMs plan is cheaper than the market.

Does AdventureSIMs have a discount code?

Yes. WATCHDOG: 5% off, added at checkout by itself when you arrive through our links. We tested it at AdventureSIMs's own checkout before listing it, and using it never changes where AdventureSIMs ranks on this site.

Which countries does AdventureSIMs cover?

158 countries in our catalogue. The cheapest AdventureSIMs destinations by price per GB right now are Thailand ($0.46), Turkey ($0.46), Australia ($0.47). Every country in the table on this page links to its full comparison, where AdventureSIMs is ranked against every other provider we track.

Can I use an AdventureSIMs eSIM as a hotspot?

Yes. Every plan page lists hotspot as Yes, and their data marks it on every plan.

Does AdventureSIMs sell unlimited data plans?

No. Every plan we list is a fixed bundle, from 500 MB to 75 GB. We hold back eight one day plans for Bahrain and Reunion until it is clear whether they are fixed or daily.

How do I install an AdventureSIMs eSIM?

Buy on their website or in their app. Their terms say the eSIM is delivered straight after payment, in the app or by email. Their help page says the email carries a one tap install link for iPhone and a QR code, and that data roaming has to be switched on for the eSIM line. Buy the plan online, scan the QR code on wifi before you fly, and leave the new line switched off until you land. Then turn on data roaming for the AdventureSIMs line and give it a minute to attach to a network. If the code will not install, our guide to eSIM QR code errors covers every message a phone can show.

We may earn a commission. It never changes the ranking or the rating.
