Who is ByteSIM?
ByteSIM sells travel data in more than 180 countries and runs one of the largest catalogues we track, over twelve thousand plans once you count every size and duration combination. The shop is built on Shopline, payment is by card, and there is a mobile app for managing plans and checking usage.
What makes them worth reading carefully is the shape of their range rather than the size of it. Most sellers offer you a pool of data. ByteSIM offers three different things and names them in a way that is easy to misread: a fixed pool written as "Total 10GB", a daily allowance written as "1GB/Day", and genuinely uncapped plans written as "Unlimited Data". A ten day plan at 1 GB per day is ten gigabytes of full speed data, not one, and a fixed 10 GB plan over ten days is a different product at a different price. We store all three separately so the tables compare like with like, and where a description was ambiguous we left the plan out rather than guess at it.
They also sell a number of country plans that include local calls and SMS, and a handful of carrier specific premium plans such as Japan on KDDI and South Korea on LG U+. Those are real distinct products rather than marketing labels, and they are priced accordingly.

Activation
QR code after purchase with automatic activation on arrival. Their product pages state the network partner per destination.
Plan type
Most plans are data only. A number of destinations also sell plans that include local calls and SMS, and a few include a local number.
Validity clock
Validity runs from activation, and durations run from a single day up to long stay plans.
Hotspot sharing
Hotspot sharing is supported and stated on their plan pages.
5G access
5G and 4G LTE depending on the local partner. Several premium plans name the carrier directly, such as KDDI in Japan and LG U plus in South Korea.
Top-ups
Plans are managed in their app, where more data can be added.
ID checks (KYC)
No identity documents. Their product descriptions state no ID required.

Check before you buy
- Read the plan shape before the price. Total 10GB is a pool for the whole trip; 1GB/Day is a fresh allowance every day and usually the better deal on a long stay
- Unlimited on some plans means unlimited, and on others means full speed up to a daily amount and slower after. Both appear in their range
- Their regional packs, Europe, Asia, Global and the rest, are not listed here because the feed never says which countries they include
- Premium carrier plans such as Japan on KDDI cost more than the standard Japan plan and are a different product, not a different label
