Who is GigSky?
GigSky is one of the oldest names in travel data. Founded in 2010 in Palo Alto and still founder led, it was Apple's launch data partner for the Apple SIM on iPad back in 2015 and supported eSIM iPhones from the very start. Unlike most travel eSIM shops it manages its own eSIM core rather than purely reselling.
Its speciality is reach: around 200 countries and regions through 400 network partners, plus coverage where almost nobody else works, including more than 200 cruise ships and inflight WiFi on 20+ airlines. Visa cardholders get free data perks through the GigSky app.
The trade off is price and policy. GigSky usually sits above the budget crowd in our price per GB tables, cruise plans are notably expensive, and the refund policy is the strictest we track: plans are non refundable even if never activated.

Activation
App based install, QR by email also available. Plans bought and managed in the GigSky app.
Plan type
Data only, no number, no voice or SMS. VoIP apps work fine.
Validity clock
Starts when the eSIM first connects at the destination, not at purchase.
