OVOSIM eSIM review

3.6

The short answer. OVOSIM sells prepaid travel eSIM plans in 193 countries, and its cheapest rate today is $0.78 per GB. Its median rate of $4.58 per GB is about 62% above the $2.83 median across every plan we track. You are paying above the middle of the market for a typical plan here, so open the country page for your destination before you buy: it ranks every seller we track on the same maths.

Have we checked these prices?

95% of OVOSIM's plans on this site were checked against OVOSIM's own shop on 16 October 2026, one country page at a time. We confirm the product is on sale and that the price is the one they charge, and we take their price over ours whenever the two disagree.

A feed is not a shop. Feeds can list products that are not on sale, describe them differently, or carry a stale price, so a price nobody has checked again is only a number we copied.

OVOSIM did not pay for this review or this rating. The rating is computed from live catalogue data and cannot be bought. If you buy through a link on this page we may earn a commission, and the price you pay stays exactly the same.

About OVOSIM

Who is OVOSIM?

OVOSIM is the trading name of Pinocchio, LLC, a Delaware company whose contact address is a registered agent mailbox in Wilmington. It sells data only eSIM plans for 200+ destinations, priced mainly in EUR, with an average order around 8 euro, through its own site and an iOS app; no Android app was found.

Each destination page states its network, speed and whether tethering and KYC apply before you buy, which is more upfront than most sellers. KYC is stated as not required. The refund window is short at 7 days and closes the moment the QR code is scanned, and there is no top up: a depleted plan means a new purchase. Its Trustpilot page is small, 4.0 from 10 reviews, and the iOS app carries only 5 ratings, so the pricing and per plan transparency are easy to check but the review history is not yet established.

Technical details

How OVOSIM works, in detail

Activation
Scan the QR code from Settings, Cellular, Add eSIM, label the line as secondary, then turn on data roaming for that line only once you land.
Plan type
Data only, no phone number. The site markets itself around keeping messaging apps such as WhatsApp reachable over the data connection.
Validity clock
Not stated. Plan durations run from the day chosen at checkout (5, 7, 10, 15 or 30 days); the site does not say whether the clock starts at purchase or at first connection.
Hotspot sharing
Their own USA plan page lists tethering as yes (allowed), though the general terms restrict tethering or resale "unless permitted", so check the destination page.
5G access
5G/4G LTE, named per destination page, for example T-Mobile in the USA.
Top ups
Not offered. Each purchase is its own data package; running out means buying a new plan.
ID checks (KYC)
Not required, stated directly on destination pages as "KYC Not Required".
Apps
iOS app rated 4.8 from 5 ratings, too few to be meaningful. No Android app found.
Payments
Cards and PayPal processed through Stripe, per their privacy policy. Prices shown mainly in EUR.
Refunds
Refund within 7 days of purchase if the eSIM has not been activated. No refund once the QR code is scanned or the plan activated, and none for partially used data. Processed to the original payment method in 5 to 10 business days.
Support
Email support with a stated typical reply under 20 minutes, plus a claimed 24/7 human support team. No live chat widget is evident on the site itself.

Is there an OVOSIM discount code?

Not one we can vouch for right now. We only publish an OVOSIM promo code after testing it at OVOSIM's own checkout, and most codes on coupon sites are expired or never worked. If a working discount code appears it will be listed here, and it will never change where OVOSIM ranks in our tables.

Why OVOSIM scores 3.6 out of 5

No editor chose this number. It is computed from three measurable things, weighted 45% value, 35% coverage, 20% features:

PROS

  • KYC not required, stated plainly on every destination page
  • Tethering allowed on the plans checked
  • 7 day refund window, more generous than several privacy or budget rivals
  • Instant QR delivery with a claimed sub 20 minute support response
  • Transparent per plan specs: network, speed and tethering status shown before you buy

CONS

  • Contact address is a Delaware registered agent mailbox, not stated as an operating office
  • No true top up: a depleted plan must be replaced with a new purchase
  • Only 10 Trustpilot reviews and a 5 rating iOS app, both too thin to judge the service by
  • No Android app found
  • General terms restrict tethering or resale "unless permitted", which sits awkwardly next to destination pages marketing tethering as allowed
Reputation check

What real OVOSIM customers say

4 / 5 Trustpilot, 10 reviews. Collected independently of us, checked Oct 2026. Too few reviews to influence our rating.

Most praised

  • Easy, straightforward installation
  • Reliable connectivity across the destinations reviewed
  • Support replies quickly by email

Most complained about

  • Coverage gaps in specific countries despite being listed as included
  • No way to renew or extend an existing eSIM, only buy a new one
  • QR code retrieval after purchase could be clearer

Check before you buy

  • Refund rights end the moment the QR is scanned or the plan activated, and the window is only 7 days, half the length several rivals give
  • Disputes are resolved through binding arbitration under Delaware law, not a small claims or ombudsman route
  • No renewal option: a plan that runs out needs a new purchase, not a top up
  • Prices are quoted mainly in EUR on destination pages while the terms reference USD, check which currency applies at checkout

Questions

OVOSIM eSIM FAQ

What people ask before they buy an OVOSIM eSIM, answered from live data

Is OVOSIM legit?

OVOSIM is a real seller with 4058 live plans in our catalogue covering 193 countries, and every one of those prices is checked again at each catalogue refresh. 95% of those plans were checked against OVOSIM's own shop on 16 October 2026, so the prices here are the ones a buyer sees. Trustpilot shows 4 out of 5 from 10 reviews, collected independently of us. Our own rating of 3.6 out of 5 is computed from prices and coverage and cannot be bought.

How much does an OVOSIM eSIM cost?

OVOSIM plans run from $0.34 to $301.86. Ranked by real price per GB the best rate is 50 GB for 30 Days at $39.12, which is $0.78 per GB. Across the whole catalogue the median is $4.58 per GB against a market median of $2.83, so a typical OVOSIM plan is dearer than the market.

Does OVOSIM have a discount code?

Not one we can vouch for. We only publish OVOSIM promo codes that we have tested at its checkout, and there is no working code right now. Most codes on coupon sites are expired, so check the total on the payment page before you count on a discount.

Which countries does OVOSIM cover?

193 countries in our catalogue. The cheapest OVOSIM destinations by price per GB right now are France ($0.78), Australia ($0.89), Germany ($0.89). Every country in the table on this page links to its full comparison, where OVOSIM is ranked against every other provider we track.

Can I use an OVOSIM eSIM as a hotspot?

Their own USA plan page lists tethering as yes (allowed), though the general terms restrict tethering or resale "unless permitted", so check the destination page.

Does OVOSIM sell unlimited data plans?

721 of its 4058 plans are sold as unlimited. In practice they are fair use plans: full speed up to a daily allowance, then slower. That is why they carry no price per GB in our tables.

How do I install an OVOSIM eSIM?

Scan the QR code from Settings, Cellular, Add eSIM, label the line as secondary, then turn on data roaming for that line only once you land. Buy the plan online, scan the QR code on wifi before you fly, and leave the new line switched off until you land. Then turn on data roaming for the OVOSIM line and give it a minute to attach to a network. If the code will not install, our guide to eSIM QR code errors covers every message a phone can show.
